Hi, I’m Stefanie! By night I’m a meteorologist – yes, in San Diego – no, it’s not always 72 and sunny – no, it’s not the easiest job in the world – and no, I am definitely NOT on TV!
I’m a former gymnast who randomly decided to take up running in 2013 when I was on my weight loss journey. At first it was merely a form of exercise when I couldn’t make it to the gym, but I quickly wanted to see how far I could push myself. I ran my first half marathon in Feb 2014 and have been hooked ever since. In the two years since then I have run numerous half marathons (still my favorite distance!), a few 5 and 10Ks. In October 2015 I took the leap to the marathon distance and qualified for Boston! I cannot wait to run it in 2017!
Running has turned from a form of exercise into a huge part of my life. Nothing has ever brought me such peace, and I feel like a good (or even a bad) run fixes just about everything. I love running amongst the beauty of San Diego every week, being a part of the running community, and traveling all over the US and Canada for races. You can usually find me on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 629 AM working out with the awesome and crazy yahoos at November Project San Diego. #justshowup
When I’m not running or working, you can find me at the gym, taking random trips, and photographing all the nature things. I am also a certified Turbo Kick and Zumba instructor who will be starting as a Group X Instructor very soon. I also represent #teamnuun as a runner! #stayhydrated
